FAVANA FOODS is a newly created spin off enterprise from three companies that are part of the Spanish Agrofood value chain. Favana Foods seeks to introduce to the market more sustainable proteins from local harvested pulses. Our attempt is to grow the best Mediterranean pulses from a nutritional and organoleptic perspective to produce vegetable proteins and starches to be included in food and nutra applications

The faba bean has excellent nutritional and environmental advantages, its high protein
content, combined with its agronomic features, makes it an ‘up-and-coming’ product that
could be used to meet the shifting trends toward healthy eating, environmental
consciousness and is helpful for future food overpopulation demand.
We have decided to start with Faba beans! but we are sure that we will discover other

FAVANA Faba protein F is a clean label ingredient with 65% of protein content. This ingredient offers an excellent amino acid profile, similar to pea protein.
These Protein and starch are creamy- to yellow coloured with the characteristic flavor and aroma of faba beans and could be used for multiple food and feed applications such as: snacks, plant-based products, beverages, food supplements, animal feed etc.
Favana Foods was born and developed entirely in the province of Girona, in the municipality of Quart.
Girona is one of the few Spanish cities that has the great privilege of having the sea, as it is on the shores of the Mediterranean with the Costa Brava, and mountains in its province, very close to the Pyrenees.
With its own plantation land and a production plant under development, Favana Foods has become a pioneering company in the whole of Spain

Storage of field beans as whole dry beans in plastic/steel containers away from moisture and heat. Whole seeds can keep well for several months if conserved in air-tight bins.
Raw, green field beans can be kept in the home refrigerator for 2-3 days and shelled peas used like vegetables. Do not deep-freeze the whole pods as they sustain a chilling injury.
